AWC Last Minute Reminders
As we get ready for the AWC, we wanted to remind you of some general procedures and tips to make sure the AWC is not only a success for our gymnasts, but also for all our volunteers.
* There is a Macomb Community College campus wide mandate requiring anyone on campus that enters a building must wear a mask. This applies to events as well, however, athletes aren't required to wear them while warming up, or while competing. The mandate is stated throughout the building (see attached). MCC will make masks (and hand sanitizer) readily available at the expo entrance.
* We will be using Ticket Spicket for admissions. Please share and follow the link to get your tickets now or you can get your fast pass using QR codes as you enter the event. The link is https://spicket.events/olympiagymnastics.
* Those who have been notified to claim the remaining Volunteer t-shirts, they will be available when you check in for your first work session in the volunteer check-in room.
* For the Set Up and Tear Down Sessions, we have included a Tip Sheet to help these sessions run smoothly and comfortably for everyone. Please read this document, it provides important information that you will need to know before coming to these shifts. (Set-up starts Friday, January 28th at 4:00 pm at the Macomb Community Sports and Expo Center 14500 East 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48088 - Tear-down starts at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 30th. PLEASE BE ON TIME!)
* Friday Set Up session sign in will be in the expo area with Tiffanie Holt. The rest of the weekend please sign in at the volunteer check in room. There will be signs directing you to the room.
* If you are working the first session of the day, please use the doors at the northeast corner of the gym (there will be signs). The front doors will be locked until the gymnasts can check in.
* Do not park in designated parking spaces or behind the expo. There will be "No Parking" signs placed by MCC. If you park there, they will ticket you!
* You must stay for your entire shift. Your shift ends when your replacement comes.
* Phones are not allowed on the floor. Our focus needs to stay on the job assigned, even if there is some down time.
* You may bring beverages, please keep them in the volunteer room.
* Please leave your personal belongings (purses and valuables) in your car. OGBC, OGA, and MCC are not liable for any belongings that are lost or stolen.
* We included the FAQ sheet which is very helpful in preparing for the weekend.
Thank you so much for your help in preparing for this weekend. We hope that even though you will be working, you enjoy your time with the OGBC community. We are representing Olympia and we ask that you keep a positive attitude the entire weekend. We welcome suggestions and criticism after the meet but want to provide a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone. A smile and positive attitude make a big difference!
Remember, this is a great opportunity to support and watch other Olympia gymnasts! Please consider coming to a session or two before or after your work shift to cheer for our gymnasts! This is a great time to show our Olympia gymnasts how proud we are of all of our talented athletes!
