Night At The Races - Event Details
Hello all Olympia family and friends!
The time is hear for our first Olympia Gymnastics Booster Club Night at the Races!!!! Below are some details about the night to help get everyone ready.
Dress Code is Casual but fun Derby wear is always welcome!
EVENT
6:00 p.m. - Doors Open
6:45 p.m. - Dinner (Buffet Style)
7:45 p.m. - Explanation of Races/Wagering
7:50 p.m. - Wagering Windows Open
8:00 p.m. - Post Time - Race #1
11:00 p.m. - Closing Remarks
The fun and excitement of thoroughbred horse racing will be delivered to you in the form of high quality, professional video and emceed live by Michigan-Night-at-the-Races.com.
The racing lineup includes ten races, followed by an eleventh race, which is an auction race. Each race will consist of a 10-horse field.
WAGERING
You may wager on your favorite horse(s) in each of the races to WIN. There is no PLACE (2nd place) or SHOW (3rd place) wagering. All wagering MUST be done in $2 increments ($2, $4, $10, $20, etc.).
RACE #'s 1 - 10
For race #'s 1 - 10, all horses listed in the program are purchased (sponsored) in advance by an owner donor). All horse owners (donors) are recognized in the program. Each horse will be randomly assigned to a post position in one of the ten races. A $100 prize will be awarded to the owner of the winning horse from each race in race #'s 1 - 10.
RACE #11
Race #11 is an auction race. Throughout the evening, a total of ten horses will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The highest bidder for each horse will be declared the horse's owner and will represent one of the ten post positions in Race #11. The owner of the winning horse in Race #11 will receive half of the proceeds raised from all of the auction horses!
AUCTION BIDDING TIP: It is suggested that a table and/or group of people pool their money together when bidding on a horse!
NOTE: A detailed explanation of the races/rules will also be explained by the emcee prior to the start of Race #1.
